History
The Universities and Research Councils Network on Innovation for Inclusive Development in Southeast Asia Inc. (UNIID-SEA) is a network organization based in the Philippines that facilitates knowledge development, capacity building, and program management towards “Innovation for Inclusive Development” (IID). In 2011, the network organization was born out of a CAD1.2M (PhP47M) grant project supported by Canada’s International Development Research Centre (IDRC-CRDI) under the iBoP Asia Program Ateneo School of Government.
After the project formally closed in 2015, UNIID-SEA transitioned into becoming a non-stock, non-profit organization, and was officially registered under the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) of the Philippines by January 2016. Since then, the UNIID-SEA Secretariat has developed and implemented a number of research and consultancy engagements supported by international and local institutons.
UNIID-SEA is currently affiliated with and based in the Development Studies Program of the Ateneo de Manila University (http://www.admu.edu.ph/ls/soss/development-studies). The network also manages the
Inclusive Innovation Hub (www.inclusiveinnovationhub.com), which is a repository of project outputs, tools, and publications produced by UNIID-SEA’s Network Fellows and partner institutions.
