Research Councils Workshop on Information Sharing in Southeast Asia
Representatives from four (4) councils -- National Research Councils of the Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia, and Malaysia -- shared existing initiatives on information sharing and knowledge management (documenting, storing, and disseminating research materials).
The workshop was organized by the National Research Council of the Philippines and National Research Council of Thailand, and supported by Canada's International Development Research Centre. The workshop was held on January 27 and 28, 2014 in Chiang Rai, Thailand.
The delegates also discussed potential collaboration to enable knowledge exchange in the region. UNIID-SEA’s Project Manager, Ms. Grace Santos, did a presentation on the UNIID-SEA project, which currently provides support to universities and national research councils in the region for innovation for inclusive development.
Ms. Dana de Guzman, UNIID-SEA’s Communications Associate, presented the project’s knowledge and networking portal, the Inclusive Innovation Hub (www.inclusiveinnovationhub.com), as a potential avenue for online knowledge management and sharing. Dr. Segundo Romero, UNIID-SEA’s Project Director, facilitated workshop sessions led to the development of proposals and plans to support the establishment of an "Southeast Asian Research Repository".
